| Actors for Autism is grateful to all of the individuals that donate to our organization. Due to recent budgetary restraints and the economy, parents are having difficulty paying for services for their children. Our primary reason for fundraising is to provide scholarships to our program. Every dollar received goes directly to providing a summer camp scholarship to a child with autism. Please consider donating to Actors for Autism. Every dollar counts! Their are various ways to help AFA.

KIDS WITH CAMERAS is a one-hour documentary produced and directed by Alex Rotaru, following the progress and challenges of a group of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, aged eleven to nineteen, as they engage in an intensive film camp taught by national award-winning educator, Brad Koepenick and organized by foundation Actors for Autism and its founder, Alisa Wolf.
By using the techniques of Improvisation created by Viola Spolin (of Chicago’s Second City fame), and the Theater Games further developed by her son Paul Sills (with whom Brad has studied), Brad creates a playful atmosphere conducive to collaboration - a particularly difficult task with autistic children who generally experience difficulties in relating to others.
In five short, overwhelming days, Brad battles the communication challenges that these often-brilliant children face - to teach them storytelling, writing, acting, improvisation, stop animation, music cueing and voice-over techniques. At the end of the week, each student authors two short animation films; in addition, a live action, class project is shot and completed. All projects are screened for the children and their parents on the fifth day. |
| Part of the proceeds of the purchase of this DVD goes to Actors For Autism. Not only is it a great movie but it is also a great teaching tool. It has been winning critical acclaim at various film festivals and the reviews are incredible. |

| View Our Wish List |
Wish List: Actors for Autism is growing and evolving. Our need for equipment and supplies seems to be endless. Our big push right now is developing our sound-proofed room into a television studio with a control room and sound recording studio. The TV studio and room will be used to teach our students, friends and family. We need items such as: cameras, microphones, lighting rigs, video monitors, intercom system to control room, video tape machines, video switcher device, audio mixing console, character generator, digital video effects and still frame device, waveform monitor, vectorscope, camera control units, patch panels for reconfiguring wires.
AFA intends to accomplish as much as possible using computers and software to produce our television show on local cable TV and on the internet at AFAlive However, your contribution of used, older equipment is important for production and teaching purposes. Thank You. |
