AFA Programs
Acting Classes - The students are grouped according to age and skill level. Each (2) hour class introduces your child to warm-ups, improv games, character building exercises and scene study. This interactive non-competitive program is structured so the students work with each other and build their self-esteem. This is an inclusive program, typical peers and siblings are an integral part of the program. Classes work towards a showcase for family and friends. Acting Classes are vendored by the Regional Center (Vendor #PD1556).
Social Skills Groups- Actors for Autism Social Skills Program is for ages 6 - 22 years of age. Our curriculum addreses social skills such as Initial Social Skills, Skills for Expressing Feelings, Social Relationship Skills, Organizational Skills, Decision Making, Problem Solving Skills and Conflict Management Skills.

Animation Workshop - This unique program is for individuals 6-22 years of age who are interested in animation/claymation. This program creates a hands on experience where students, write, produce and direct their own animated and cut-out shorts. The animation/claymation provides the students the opportunity to develop sequences of images through storyboarding and clay characters.
Film Making - The students will act in as well as help produce, direct, light and shoot each film. This program is taught by industry professionals who have experience in both television and film. This is an inclusive program, typical peers and siblings are an integral part of the program
2008 AFA Summer Camps - Our fifth year of Summer Camps begins July 7th and run thru August 15th. Each camp session is one week long, Monday thru Friday, 10AM-3PM. Campers may sign up for more than one session and choose either animation or film-making. Camps are vendored by the Regional Center (Vendor #HL065).
Adult Aspergers Support Group - This group is for individuals ages 18 to 25. The group meets once a week on Saturdays. Sessions include discussions and recreational activities.
Savoir Faire Social Dances - This unique program is for kids ages 13 to 18. It is a monthy dance event that teaches etiquette and dance in a fun, social environment. Participants are required to dress-up: shirt and tie for the guys, and dresses and white gloves for the gals.
Volunteer at AFA - Volunteers may choose from a variety of volunteer opportunities which may be one-time-only or on-going. We have a special peer mentor program and encourage typical children ages 6-18 to participate. Students earn community service hours for their school. We have a brief volunteer orientation prior to starting any position.
